Bugatti Veryron Super Sport

Indian roads are not meant for super speed cars and will never be atleast for some years but its not the Indian manufacturers who are focusing on high speed machines but as always the manufacturers located on the other side of the planet.

This French brand was found by Ettore Bugatti,an Italian immigrant described as an eccentric genius for building high performance automobiles and the brand still carries his legacy with cars like the Bugatti Veyron.

This car previously held the record for the fastest landspeed of production cars and now the latest addition to its titles is another landspeed record created by Buatti Veyron Super Sport.
This car broke the previous world record with an average top speed of 431km/hr on the proving grounds of the Volkswagen Group at Ehra-Lessien (nearby its headquarters at Wolfsburg) under the sharp observation of a representative of Guinness Book of Records and officials from German Technical Inspection Agency (TÜV).

Bugatti’s Pilote Officiel Pierre Henri Raphanel drove the car from north to south with a speed of 427, 933 km/h and then back with a speed of 431,211 km/h which led the jury calculate an record breaking average top speed of 431,072 km/h. Bugatti’s chief engineer Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber said,”We took it that we would reach an average value of 425 km/h, but the conditions today were perfect and allowed even more.”

General Specifications Of Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

The car sports a uniquely designed engine developing a maximum power of 1,200-hp (882 kW) along with an astonishing maximum torque of 1,500 Newton metres. For the customers’ safety and to protect the tyres the speed of the car has been restricted to a maximum 415 km/h.

Price Of Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

The car is rumored to be priced at 2.5 million US dollars.
The first five buyers of Veyron Super Sport will get the machine with the same configuration as of the actual car which broke the record and the car will appear for the first time in public in California at the Pebble Beach Concours weekend in mid-August and will be featured at The Quail, Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca and on the concept lawn of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Q2

Audi Q2

Audi has pulled off the wraps from its latest concept car at the on-going 2012 Paris Motor Show, the Audi Crosslane Coupe SUV which may serve as the blueprint of the upcoming Audi Q2 compact SUV. The Crosslane Coupe SUV features a 1.5 litre, TFSI petrol engine coupled with 2 electric motors with a total power output of close to 175 BHP. Audi also claims that this hybrid powered SUV can do a 0 to 62 mph dash in just 8.6 seconds all the way to hit a top speed of 113 mph.
It is expected that Audi will be developing aAudi Q2 next in the pipeline after the success of the Audi Q3. Simply stating, the Q2 would provide an option for the existing Audi A1 customers to upgrade to the more rugged looks and the raised driving stance of an SUV yet with the compact dimensions and drivability of a supermini.
Audi has targeted trendy urban youngsters looking for something that’s both ultra-efficient and fun while conceptualizing the SUV. It also explains the extensive use of lightweight aluminum and carbon-based materials. What is surprising is the Crosslane Coupe also features a removable roof that transforms it to an open-top SUV!
The roof weighs less than 10 Kg and is entirely made of Carbon Fibre Re-inforced Plastic (CFRP). The interior is also very high tech and most of the controls are mounted on the steering wheel. It also features all-time connectivity to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and can send and receive photos and videos via the internet.
The car also boasts of a terrific emission figure: just 26g/km making the Toyota Prius look like a soot factory. The 1.5 litre petrol unit gets 2 electric motors. The smaller of the two produces 50kW of power and a torque of 210Nm. It acts like a starter and alternator while the bigger unit develops 85kW of power and 250Nm of torque and provides most of the electrical traction.

New Car in Audi

                             Audi R8
high-strung mid-mounted V10, is the most powerful and the fastest road-spec Audi of all time. It is also among the most performance-oriented cars that can legally sport a license plate. Here’s our account of a rendezvous with this mid-engined supercar at an airstrip in Hosur recently.

What All’s New with the Design & Styling?

Well, everything. Yes, the silhouette remains more or less the same but there’s really not much that the two generations share between them. While the overall design continues to reflect the powerful character of the Audi flagship, the new generation R8 looks decidedly sharper and more dynamic than the model it replaces.
The Engine Start/Stop button and the Audi Drive Select Controls are cleverly located on the multi-function Performance steering wheel, just so that the driver can toggle between an almost gazillion settings without taking his or her hands off the steering wheel.
Among the biggest highlights of the cabin is the Audi virtual cockpit that offers a plethora of information on a 12.3-inch display. There are multiple display modes; our favorite is the performance mode, which offers information on acceleration, deceleration, power, torque and even lateral forces.
What’s Under the Hood?
Powering the Audi R8 V10 Plus is a 5.2-litre FSI V10 that belts out a staggering 610 hp of max. power.  The new R8 V10 Plus can dismiss 100 KMPH from a standstill in merely 3.2 seconds and can even go on to hit a top whack of 330 KMPH! The V10 comes mated to a 7-Speed S Tronic Dual Clutch Auto transmission and a new Quattro all-wheel drive system.
With a dry weight of 1,454 KGs, the new R8 V10 Plus, in spite of all the additional equipment and greater structural rigidity, weighs as much as 50 KGs lesser than the last generation R8.

Get behind the wheel, thumb the starter, set the car in ‘Performance Mode’ using the brilliant Audi Drive Select, a neat shove to the gas pedal and et voila! You’re in for a treat! There’s only a faint hint of the tires screeching and the R8 V10 .
