Mahindra XUV500

Following the launch of the automatic transmission on the W8 and W10 trims of itsRefreshed XUV500 SUV in November last year, Mahindra has now introduced the auto ‘box in the mid-range W6 trim as well. For India the XUV500 automatic comes paired to the existing diesel engine with no changes in specifications. It maybe noted that the launch of the Honda BR-V and the Hyundai Creta has put a lot of pressure on Mahindra’s Scorpio and XUV500 SUVs, which could be one of the reasons for the launch of the automatic version in the W6 trim just days after the launch of the BR-V. You can find the Mahindra XUV500 Automatic price, launch, specifications and more in this post.

The Mahindra XUV500 has always been a feature-laden car and things got even sweeter with the advent of the recently-launched facelift. As we mentioned earlier, the automatic will be available in the W8 FWD, W10 FWD and W10 AWD.

Rivals

The XUV500 Automatic competes with the automatic variants of the Honda BR-VHyundai Creta and the upcoming Renault Duster AMT.

Mahindra XUV500 Petrol

It maybe noted that the gap between the prices of petrol and diesel has narrowed down by a considerable margin and petrol-powered cars are fast regaining popularity among the car buying lot. Also, the very fact that diesel cars are pricier than their petrol-sipping siblings has ensured that those with low monthly running have preferred sticking to the gasoline-engined vehicles.

Lastly, higher demand for petrol cars with automatic transmissions in export markets has been a reason enough for domestic car makers to shift their focus back to developing petrol cars. In all chances, Mahindra will soon come up with a petrol variant of the XUV500 and you can stay tuned to Car Blog India for all the Mahindra XUV500 Petrol Automatic launch details.
